Affiliate disclosure
The short version
This site is free to read. When advertising and affiliate links are live, they will pay for it; at the time of writing neither is earning anything. If either of those changes what you read here, the site has failed at the only thing it is for, so the rules below exist to make that impossible rather than merely unlikely.
What an affiliate link means
An affiliate link is a link that pays this site a commission if you follow it and sign up for something. It costs you nothing extra. If a page carries one, it is disclosed on that page, in the text, alongside the link itself rather than in a footer or a footnote.
At the time of writing, no affiliate links are present on this site. The disclosure is published now, rather than added later alongside the first link, so that the arrangement is declared before it exists rather than after.
What an affiliate link cannot buy
- A better position. Apps are not ranked, sorted or ordered by who pays. There is no sponsored placement on this site.
- A kinder sentence. No company can pay to have a limitation left out of its page, or to have a competitor’s included.
- An earlier mention. Which apps appear on a page is decided by what the page is about, not by what pays.
Advertising
Display advertising may appear on this site. Ads are labeled as advertising, are served separately from the content, and have no influence over what is written. An advertiser cannot buy a mention in an article.
How to check that
If you think a page here is shaped by money rather than by the product, email [email protected] and say which page and which part. Corrections are made on the page with a note, not quietly.
